Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee posthumously award the "Brave Youth" Badge to the police lieutenant who died while on anti-epidemic duty

DTN: On August 7th, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union decided to posthumously award the "Brave Youth" Badge to Lieutenant Nguyen Van Chien, who died while on duty to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic.

According to Decision Number 363-QDKT/TWDTN-VP dated August 7th, 2021, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union decided to posthumously award the "Brave Youth" Badge to Lieutenant Nguyen Van Chien, Security Team, Public Security Force of Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province for his brave sacrifice while performing the duty at the Quarantine Check Point.

According to information from Nghe An Provincial Police, around 8 pm on August 6th, 2021, while on patrol duty to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic at the Check Point in Quynh Van commune, Lieutenant Nguyen Van Chien (born1995) was hit by a truck traveling on National Highway 1A. Although he was quickly taken to the hospital by his teammates and local citizens, his injuries were too severe and he did not survive.

Immediately, Colonel Nguyen Duc Hai, Deputy Director of Nghe An Provincial Police and representatives of functional departments were promptly presented at the Check Point to direct the investigation and to share the loss of Lieutenant Nguyen Van Chien's family at the same time.

It is known that Lieutenant Nguyen Van Chien is the only son in a family with difficult circumstances. He has just been sent to strengthen the Functional Force at the COVID-19 Check Point in Quynh Van commune one week ago.

Currently, Quynh Luu district police are coordinating with professional units of the provincial police to urgently investigate the cause of the incident.
