20,000 remote jobs to support Vietnamese students

Web.HCYU.28/4/2020. The Central Committee of the Viet Nam Union of Students (VNUS), in collaboration with the employment platform TopCV launched the Campaign "20,000 remote jobs to support Vietnamese students" at sinhvien.vieclamtuxa.vn to solve employment problems for students, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Results of surveys in 131,000 businesses across the country and reports of 59 provinces and cities on the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic: By mid-April 2020, nearly 5 million employees lost their jobs or stopped working. The number of unemployed laborers in the first quarter of this year was about 1.1 million. Moreover, the number of unemployed young people (aged 15-24) is nearly 493 thousand, accounting for over 44% of the total unemployed.

The number of businesses recruiting in March 2020 has dropped by 30-35%. The reason given by businesses is that the impact of the epidemic has led to a decrease in the demand for recruiting personnel, even led to the bankruptcy, especially in service fields such as restaurants and education. This has posed a great impact on students who do part-time works because these fields are suitable for students as they do not require specialization.

The VNUS plays role in connecting and offering 20,000 remote jobs to Vietnamese students. The jobs are mainly based on the method of working remotely, students only need to use computers to work from home such as: programmers; sales staff; marketer; designer; customer service staff; input data staff, etc.

With the message "Leave no one behind", VNUS and TopCV hope that Vietnamese students living in Viet Nam and abroad can find suitable and stable jobs for themselves.
