"One million glasses of milk" given to disadvantaged children during Covid-19 time

Web.HCYU.22/4/2020. In the morning of April 22nd, the Central Council of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization launched the project "One million glasses of milk".

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Permanent Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU), Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF); Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Department of Children’s Affairs, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization; Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy, Member of Executive Committee, Deputy Head of Department of Youth Unification and Mobilization, Vice Chairman of VYF; representatives from Hanoi HCYU and Young Pioneer Organization.

The project "One million glasses of milk" will be held from April 22nd, 2020 until the announcement of the end of the COVID-19 pandemic with the desire to provide milk and nutritious meals to disadvantaged teenagers and children, who are children of workers, self-employed workers who lose their jobs, children in mountainous and poor areas. Each gift is 300,000 VND worth.

In particular, the central level would offer 500,000 glasses of milk and 50,000 books and newspapers to provinces and cities including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Can Tho, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh. The remaining provinces and cities would help in calling for resources (including human resource, especially Youth Union members) to join in contributing to supporting and striving to donate at least 500 books and newspapers. for disadvantaged children.

At the same time, the project  "One million glasses of milk" was implemented in 5 provinces and cities including Ho Chi Minh city, Da Nang, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Thai Nguyen. Particularly on April 22nd, the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization coordinated with provinces and cities to give 13.440 glasses of milk. 

The project "One million glasses of milk" was accompanied and supported by TH Food Chain Joint Stock Company, NutiFood Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company, International Dairy Joint Stock Company (IDP) and Tien Phong Newspaper Children.
