Launching the program "Sharing love, joining hands to overcome the pandemic"

In the morning of April 22nd in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) launched the program "Sharing love, joining hands to overcome the pandemic", supporting the youth and people in difficult circumstances being negatively affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The program "Sharing love, joining hands to overcome the pandemic" was implemented from April 22nd, 2020 until the announcement of the end of the pandemic nationwide. The program has two main solutions, which are: (1) support essential necessities to stabilize daily life; and (2) support employment, living conditions, and learning conditions. In addition, the Viet Nam Youth Federation (VYF) offers free meals to people in difficult circumstances; the Viet Nam Union of Students has awarded telecommunication packages, scholarships, free and discounted courses to support students who have difficulties studying online; the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization Central Council implemented the program "One million glasses of milk" awarded to children; Youth Union, Youth Federation and other youth organizations at all level have established and maintained the operation of thousands of youth teams volunteering to respond to the epidemic.

With the spirit "Leave no one behind" , at the launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Permanent Secretary of the HCYU, President of the VYF called agencies, units, organizations, enterprises and individuals living in Viet Nam and Vietnamese compatriots abroad to actively participate in the support, to accompany with the country to prevent the epidemic and remediating consequences affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. He also suggested the Standing Committee of Provincial Youth Union and other youth organizations actively implementing all activities based on the plan to create the most widespread, positive and effective changes for our country.

Right after the ceremony, the Viet Nam Youth Federation deployed the program "A million Meals", distributing 93 thousand meals to 31 thousand people in difficult circumstances in 5 cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Da Nang, Can Tho, Hai Phong. Beside, the program named "One million cups of milk" was implemented in 6 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Da Nang, Binh Duong, Dong Nai and Thai Nguyen. More than 1,500 children of young workers and freelancers have received gifts from the program including books, milk, rice, eggs, vegetables, confectionery ..., The organizers also departed 2 bus trips "Sharing love, joining hands to overcome the pandemic " to carry 1,000 gifts for workers, offering 700 gifts to disadvantaged workers in the industrial zone such as Noi Bai, Soc Son, Hanoi; giving more than 5,000 gifts to disadvantaged children. Moreover, many programs and activities to support people in difficult circumstances were implemented by the HCYU at all levels across the country such as: Starting the journey "The rice of love" in Dong Thap; the “Rice ATM” in Khanh Hoa and Da Nang; Opening “0 VND store”  in Lam Dong; etc
