Honoring 10 Viet Nam Outstanding Young Citizens of 2019

Web.HCYU.25/3/2020. In the morning of March 25th, a ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) to honor 10 outstanding young Vietnamese of 2019.

Attending the event were Mr. Le Quoc Phong, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the HCYU; Mr Nguyen Anh Tuan, Secretary of the HCYU, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation; Mr Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Secretary of the HCYU, Chairman of the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization.

The award is one of the activities hosted by the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund, which aims to honor excellent people whose age is under 35. These people shall be recognized with their outstanding achievements, which make a good impact on the society. The fields in which they strive are education, scientific researching, physical training, sports, working, production, national defense, etc. This award, therefore, creates motivation to develop young talents as it promotes the movement of learning, training, scientific researching and more.

Previously, on March 3rd, after two selection rounds and then online round with more than 11 million readers voting, the selection board of the Vietnam Outstanding Young Youth Award in 2019 was able to select 10 excellent and 10 prospective nominees.

These were all individuals with extraordinary efforts and aspirations to conquer the peak in 9 fields: sports, arts and culture, education, creative research, production-labor, entrepreneurship, social activities, security and defense.

After the ceremony, in response to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the launch of the HCYU Central Committee, 20 outstanding and prospective young Vietnamese immediately donated VND 100 million from the award to support the campaign against COVID-19. Their desire was to join the country in making contributions to ensure social security and people’s health.

Also on this occasion, 20 outstanding and prospective young Vietnamese spent VND 100 million in supporting people affected by drought and salinity intrusion in response to the call of Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee.

The donation will be transferred from the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee.
