Deploying numbers of significant and meaningful works in the program “March at Border areas”

Web.HCYU.21/3/2020. In the morning of March 21st, in Tan Chau Town ( An Giang), the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) Central Committee organized the program “March at Border areas” in 2020 with many meaningful and practical activities.

Within the framework of the program, the VYF coordinated units to deploy youth work and presented gifts to officials - soldiers and people in the border line in Phu Loc and Vinh Xuong  communes, Tan Chau Town.

Specifically: Building 2 playgrounds for children in border areas of Vinh Xuong and Phu Loc communes, worthing VND 100 million; presenting a mobile swimming pool to children worthing VND 50 million; implementing the project “Road lightens Border” with a length of 2 km in Phu Loc commune, Tan Chau town, worthing VND 100 million; presenting gifts and scholarships to 40 children with disadvantaged background in the border areas of Vinh Xuong and Phu Loc communes, worthing VND 40 million; visiting and awarding 1000 national flags to 100 households living along the border of Phu Loc and Vinh Xuong communes; handing over 04 Great solidary House, Charity House for households in Phu Loc and Tan Chau town; donating 01 ambulance worthing VND 800 million to An Phu district;starting building Hope Bridge No.95 in Binh Duc, Long Xuyen and Hope Bridge No.109 in Kien An commune, Cho Moi district with a total value of nearly VND 1.5 million; presenting medical protective masks, hand-washing antiseptic fluids against Covid-19 epidemic to the An Giang Border Guard representative. The total value of activities is VND 2.8 billion.

In addition, the delegation visited and presented gifts to officials and soldiers at Vinh Xuong International Border Gate, Tan Chau town; visited the national border landmark.

Besides their work in An Giang province, the VYF along with other units commence 7 construction sites in Nam Po district and Muong Nhe district at Dien Bien province; organize the Covid-19 prevention program – “For a healthier Vietnam”; commence installing 150 nationwide temporary hand-washing centers of 6 billions VND worth; give away 15,000 face masks, 1,700 medical protection suits and 100,000 CP chicken eggs for many quarantine areas in HCM City, Hanoi, Danang and also 30 water filters for those having droughts in Ben Tre province.

Meanwhile, the VYF at provinces and cities hold various volunteering activities in bordering areas, especially propagandizing and presenting gifts to border guards and locals living in those areas, for Covid-19 prevention.

The program “March at Border areas” is held in every March by the VYF, aiming for propagandizing and informing young people of the glorious traditions of the Federation as well as HCYU and of many generations of Vietnamese youth who contributed to the building and protection of the country.

This activity also supports the movement “I love my country” of the VYF, which bolsters the spirit of the Federation’s members and many other young people in taking care of locals living in bordering areas where hardships remain.
