Web.HCYU.29/01/2020. On February 1st (the 8th of the Lunar New Year), in Muong Sang commune (Moc Chau district, Son La province), the Central Committee of the HCYU held the launching ceremony of the tree planting festival “Everlasting grateful to President Ho Chi Minh” in Canh Ty Lunar New Year 2020.

At the launching ceremony, Leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the State and delegates, more than 2,000 Youth Union members and local people have planted 4,000 trees. After the program, 16,000 more trees will be grown by the locals and the current living ones will continue to be taken care of for more beautiful sceneries and a healthier environment.

Within the ceremony, Leaders of the Party and State, as well as HCYU Secretariat presented 60 gifts to families in difficult circumstances and outstanding representatives of poor children who overcome difficulties in studying in Muong Sang. The HCYU also offered an orchard to young people in difficult situation and 01 clean water construction to Muong Sang Primary School.

Moreover, the Son La Provincial Youth Union and other related units organize a marathon named “For a Green Vietnam” with over 300 participants. The runners reach certain milestones, ranging from 5km to 21km, in order to plant from 1 to 4 trees. This is a great way for them to show their love for nature and their desire for a greener environment.

It has been 60 years since Uncle Ho commenced this movement and millions of trees have sprung up everywhere on land. Until now, the “Everlasting grateful to President Ho Chi Minh” movement – a movement that honors Vietnamese traditions – still receives tremendous support from young people all over the country.

These tree-planting activities play a major role in emphasizing nature’s vitality in our life and propagandizing the importance of preserving natural resources, ecosystems to the masses. The movement also contributes to saving water and reducing the likeliness of natural disasters, pollutions and effects of UV rays, therefore improving human’s life conditions, creating economic advantages and balancing the state of biosystems.

The program was organized by the CC of HCYU and hosted by Son La Provincial Youth Union, accompanied by the following companies: ALMA, PlauMai Eco and Lotte Vietnam.
