Vietnam Youth Federation has new president

HCYU.23.07.2018 - Kien Giang province, an extended conference of the central committee of the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF), term 2014 – 2019 elected Mr Le Quoc Phong as new president on 19 July 2018. Former VYF president Nguyen Phi Long took up new post in Binh Dinh province.

The attending delegates nominated Mr Le Quoc Phong - alternate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, President of Vietnam Students’ Association to be president of Central Committee of Viet Nam Youth Federation, 12th tenure, term 2014 - 2019.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr Nguyen Phi Long, former president of the VYF said that in the first 6 months of 2018, Youth Association’s work and movement has flourished, attracted a large number of participats.

At the meeting, delegates gave comments on the related issues, suggested VYF to issue documents guiding the organization of congresses at all levels; the district’s congress was held 1.5 days, uniting all levels in a common movement.

In addition, it was proposed VYF would pay attention to youth workers, coordinate closely with labor union in carrying out the task of attracting and assembling young people into the activities of youth federation; specifying coordination activities; making suggestions to amend and supplement the Youth Federation's Charter to be suitable for the current situation; enhancing the care and protection of the legitimate rights and interests of the youth.
