Winter volunteer and 2015 spring volunteer programs launched

Web.HCYU.27/10/2014. Cao Bang, the Central Committee of Vietnam Youth Federation coordinates with Cao Bang Provincial Youth Federation to launch the Winter Volunteer Campaign 2014 and Spring Volunteer Campaign 2015. Presented at the event included HCYU Secretary, Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Youth Federation Nguyen Phi Long; Vice Chairman of Cao Bang People’s Committee Tran Hung.

Under the theme of “Youth in action for social security”, the Winter Volunteer Campaign 2014 and Spring Volunteer Campaign 2015 target remote areas of Northern, Central and Highland regions of Vietnam. The volunteer activities support and help people in need on settling their lives, preventing harm cold weather, responding to natural disaster, caring of the poor, providing free health checks and medicines to people living in the mountainous, border areas.

The volunteer programs aim at raising 100,000 tons of food and supplies, 100,000 winter blankets, clothes and have 10,000 people equipped with necessary skills of preventing severe, harmful cold weather, mobilizing to build 50 charitable houses for the poor, 10 semi-houses for pupils and 50,000 people to receive free health checks and consultations.      

At the launching ceremony, the Central Committee of Vietnam Youth Federation presents funding of 3 charitable houses and 2 solidarity houses for ex-youth war volunteers who live in difficult conditions, award 20 gifts and 30 scholarships to poor families and students with difficulties in Cao Bang. In addition, businesses’ representatives give 20 pairs of aided glasses and 20 presents for people of impaired visions in Cao Bang.    

Mr Nguyen Phi Long has officially launched the 60 days of nationwide emulating period toward the 7th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation.
