Honouring those Vietnamese “Nick Vujicic”

Web.HYCU.08/08/2013 - The announcement ceremony of “Shining Vietnamese Will” – Honouring those Vietnamese “Nick Vujicic” took place in Hanoi on the afternoon of August 6th, 2013. At the ceremony were representatives from Hoa Sen Group, Thanh Nien Press as well as Youth and Children Department VTV6 – Vietnam Television.

In line with life’s values which Nick Vujicic had chance to share in Vietnam, “Shining Vietnamese Will” - Honouring those Vietnamese “Nick Vujicic” is one of those launched to celebrate the campaign “Youth live a civilised and useful life” by Vietnam Youth Federation.

Board of organisers hope this programme would help to develop the well-behaved lifestyle for youth through real and touching stories from people who have been brave to overcome difficulties and obstacles in life, becoming great examples in our society. Plus, it is supposed to encourage Vietnamese youth to rise and shine as well.

Besides, board of organisers wish to find out and honour the disabled who have fought to live a life over obstacles and contribute to the community.

A writing competition named “Great examples of steel will” will be lauching on Thanh Nien Newspaper at the beginning of the programme. The competition lasts from July to December, 2013. Board of organisers will decide which would be the most excellent pieces of writing, typical examples of the disabled as well as people who have fought to live a better life and contribute to the society.

To people whom will be written about, board of organisers will choose 20 out of all whose sitiations are the most difficult and figure out a mechanism to support each of them with 30 million VND each.

The Central Vietnam Youth Federation and VTV6 –Vietnam Television will hold 10 programmes of meeting for those of steel in Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Hai Duong, Nghe An, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Đăk Lăk, Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho from October 2013 to March 2014.

On the occasion which marks 1 year since the day Nick Vujicic came to Vietnam, the two gala events “Shining Vietnamese Will” will be lauching in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with the presence of real examples of distinguished youth chosen in the framework of the writing competition.

Other programmes, conferences about policies for the disabled and developing Vietnamese talent, getting the disabled accompanied, consolidating, building and developing associations, clubs, teams of the young disabled, clubs of “Light up your belief” will be lauching at local levels as well.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan Van Mai, Permanent Secretary of Central HCYU, chairman of Vietnam Youth Federation hoped those programmes would find their ways to youth and children and help them build the fire of determination and will to fight and win the battle against themselves. Vietnam Youth Federation wished to stand by them, help raise skills for life for youth who dare to think, dare to achieve and who believe in life.
