62 poor districts nationwide to welcome 500 young volunteer doctors

The information was released at a meeting with reporters held on January 22nd in Hanoi.

According to the Ministry of Health, there is a lack of health sector human resources in mountainous districts, especially in 62 poor districts nationwide.

The pilot project on sending young volunteer doctors to work in mountainous and remote areas aims to provide quality healthcare services for local people.

In the 2013-2016 period, the project will be implemented in 20 provinces having poor districts, involving about 500 young doctors, including newly graduated doctors and graduated doctors who do not work officially in public health establishments.
