Vietnamese Student Development and Support Foundation towards the development of young generation

Working towards the development of young generation, the Vietnamese Student Development and Support Foundation (VSDSF) is offering valuable support to students with financial hardships but demonstrating significant efforts and perseverance in overcoming adversity during their studies at universities and colleges.

The Vietnamese Student Development and Support Foundation (VSDSF) is licensed and registered under the Charter in accordance with Decision No.1311/QD-BNV on 11 December 2012 by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the purpose of supporting and encouraging the development of culture, education, charity, humanitarian and community development.

Working towards the development of young generation, the VSDSF is offering valuable support to students with financial hardships but demonstrating significant efforts and perseverance in overcoming adversity during their studies at universities and colleges.

This is a social charity foundation co-founded by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central, the Central of the Vietnam National Union of Students and the Vietnamese Student Development and Support Centre operating not-for-profit activities nationwide.

The Foundation was established with the initial financial contribution of its founding members and the fund raised voluntarily by individuals, domestic and foreign organizations.

Within initial amount of 5 billion VND, the Foundation has mainly used to sponsor scholarships for needy students, helped them overcome difficulties during their academic lives.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy, Deputy Director of the Vietnamese Student Development and Support Centre comments in the first six months of 2013, the Foundation will attempt to improve its organizational structure and develop specific selection criteria to award full as well as extraordinary scholarships to students. It also continues mobilizing resources through communication campaigns, present scholarships and disseminate the information to the provincial and city youth Unions as well as the student Unions of universities and colleges across Vietnam.

From June to September 2013, the Foundation will receive scholarship applications from extraordinary students, disadvantaged students but striving for their studies; at the same time, it welcomes applications applying for full scholarships of the academic year 2013 - 2014.
