Strengthen and expand cooperation between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the French Development Agency
The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the French Agency for French Development (AFD) in Vietnam agreed to strengthen and expand the content of cooperation between the two sides in the next 5 years on the basis of effective cooperation in the past.
On the afternoon of September 30, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union welcomed the French Development Agency (AFD) in Vietnam to HCYU’s headquarter on the occasion of Mr. Fabrice Richy ended his term and Mr. Hervé Conan began his term as the Director of AFD Vietnam.
On behalf of the Central Youth Union, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan congratulated Mr. Fabrice Richy on successfully completing his term as Director of the French Development Agency in Vietnam (2017 - 2021), and congratulated Mr. Hervé Conan, the new Director The French Development Agency in Vietnam to have a successful tenure.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan highly appreciated the cooperation between AFD and the Central Youth Union through specific activities that contribute to raising the awareness of Vietnamese youth about environmental protection, dealing with climate change, which is the issue that Vietnam in general and the Central Committee of the Youth Union in particular pay great attention to.
In the coming time, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan hopes that the two sides will continue to build a longer-term cooperation program with more cooperation contents, not only on climate change issues, but also on other areas that Vietnamese youth are interested in, such as cultural industry development, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, etc.
According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, the people of France and Vietnam have close cultural ties, so the Central Youth Union and AFD can coordinate to organize activities that contribute to promoting the development of the culture industry. Besides, with a large community of Vietnamese students and young people studying and working in France and other French-speaking countries, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan proposed exchange program among French youth, Vietnamese youth living in France and Vietnamese youth living in French-speaking countries. He suggested that the two sides can cooperate in the field of digital transformation because Vietnam is in the process of accelerating digital transformation, building a digital society with young people as the core.
