Young voters are interested in finding a job after graduating

Web.HCYU.20/5/2021. Many young voters who are students are especially interested in employment issues and expect the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to strengthen its support for students to get jobs after graduation.

Mr. Do Ngoc Thanh Danh, a second year student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, shared that "I myself am a bit worried about employment because of the fact that the unemployment rate of graduates is hight". To help students become more confident when they graduate, he believed that universities and businesses needed to tighten links so that graduates could meet recruitment needs, limitthe need to re-train from the beginning.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Thao, a second-year student at Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Cadets, said: “I hope to find a job with the right major after graduation.” Phuong Thao suggested that the State should have policies regarding university training majors which relating to the coordination of human resources in order to support fresh graduates to find suitable jobs.

Member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the HCYU Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Youth Federation, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan said: “I am especially interested in policies to help young people such as: supporting young people to find jobs, supporting students to get jobs after graduation”.

He noted “We also have a program in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to orient young people before entering the threshold of life to have a mindset and understanding to choose the right career with the capacity, forte, family circumstances and human resource needs of the country within the next 3 years, 5 years".

In addition to professional knowledge, the Youth organizations have the role of supporting, equipping and training students with necessary skills and methods for future employment. "The role of the Youth Union and Union of Students in universities and colleges is to bring students into activities to experience skills, organize movements, and create an environment to practice teamwork methods and professional skills needed before graduation, including applying for a job, how to answer interviews, and how to approach employers," said Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan.

Besides, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan noted that universities, colleges and the Viet Nam National Union of Students need to upgrade their portals to connect recruitment agencies with students. "The Youth Union and Union of Students in universities and colleges can periodically organize career fairs and job forums for employers to meet with final-year students…", said Nguyen Anh Tuan.
