Launching the “Wish for Children” Program
Web.HCYU.11/4/2021. On the afternoon of April 11th, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYUC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the Project of digitalized Vietnamese knowledge held the launching ceremony of the Program “Wish for Children”.
The program calls on the whole society to join hands to support students and teachers in disadvantaged, remote and ethnic minority areas. In the first phase, the program focuses on supporting 6 “wish” groups, which are the current urgent needs, including: construction of schools, public houses, classrooms for schools in extremely difficult socio-economic regions; construction of new or renovating toilets; installation of electricity and clean water systems; school nutrition improvement; equipment, learning and living aids for students; physical enhancement equipment.
The program, with a technological background (the National Humanitarian Portal) (http://inhandao.vn/Dieuuocchoem) will allow the connection between volunteer programs, donations and schools in difficult circumstances across the country, aiming at the right object - the right need - at the right time.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the HCYUCC, President of the Viet Nam Youth Federation said: Together with agencies, localities, collectives and individuals, the HCYU had done many works for the students. However, sometimes, the work has not been done in the right method, which has not fully solved the simple wishes of teachers and students in remote and difficult areas, ethnic minority areas. Thus, there is a need for a huge change, with the right method. And the method of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam in launching the “Wish for Children” program is absolutely right to change the way of caring and accompanying students.

The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that the program will continue to be spread widely, so as not to stop at the boarding meals, or toilets for students ... but will then be nutritious meals, full range of amusement and entertainment areas for children to exercise, learn and play.
