Shining forevermore the spirit of Vietnamese pioneering youth
Web.HCYU.14/7/2020. In the morning of July 14th in Hanoi, the HCYU and the Association of Former Vietnamese Pioneering Youth (Association) solemnly celebrated the 70th anniversary of the traditional pioneering young manforce and honored many exemplary individuals.
Attending the ceremony are: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc – Member of the Politburo, Prime Minister; Mrs. Truong Thi Mai – Member of Politburo, Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee, Chairwoman of Commission for Mass Mobilization under CPV Central Committee; Mr. Vo Van Thuong – Member of Politburo, Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee, Chairman of the Publicity and Education Commission under CPV Central Committee; Mrs. Dao Ngoc Dung – Member of CPV Central Committee, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh – Member of CPV Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Office of CPV Central Committee ; Mr. Vu Trong Kim – Chairman of the Association of Former Vietnamese Pioneering Youth; Mr. Le Quoc Phong – Alternate member of the CPV Central Committee, First Secretary of HCYU; along with other member of HCYU’s Secretariat. On behalf of the leaders of the Party and the Government, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his delight to meet the generation of former pioneering youth during war times – people who didn’t mind wasting their youth to sacrifice for their fatherland. Looking back on the day the Team was formed as a response to Ho Chi Minh’s command, up to now, the manforce of the Team has been increasing exponentially, as a proof of Vietnam’s youth’s ever-growing power and spirit. Such manforce is also a great example for others to realize their inner patriotism and help them train themselves to be more complete and dedicated. “Vietnam’s pioneering young people has always been hard at work everywhere and every time during the North’s economy restoration and development progress and the South’s fight against Americans. Everywhere they march, they always fulfilled their duty such as clearing the paths, defusing and hiding the bombs, guiding the military tanks, etc.” said the Prime Minister. Now, as a worthy successor of the past generations, the pioneering youth has gone to various areas of hardships like the mountains, borderlands, faraway islands,… in order to help the locals with their finance and security. Many projects and constructions they made including the bridges for transportation, volunteering works, helping spoiled young locals to give up drugs, etc, are all exemplary activities for the pioneering youth in this new era. “I feel even more sympathetic upon knowing that within the manforce of former pioneering generations, there are people of all ages who are still co-operating and working tirelessly to help turning the Association into the communal home of members with hardships, families of the wounded and the sacrificed and the seniors. You are all honorable examples of those who will educate the current young generation about our way of revolution and morality.”, expressed the Prime Minister. To promote youth volunteers’ activities in the new period, the Prime Minister asked HCYU CC and the Association to coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the authorities to propose regulations about volunteer youth in the revised Youth Law, which has just been promulgated by the National Assembly. It is necessary to have the youth volunteers to participate in economic development, national defense and security consolidation in remote areas; launch programs about new rural construction works; ... Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Phong said: Over the past 70 years, more than 65,000 men and women have sacrificed for our nation’s revolution, overcoming all difficulties and hardships to successfully complete all assigned tasks. 6.735 youth volunteers passed away, 40.451 youth volunteers injured, more than 14.000 people infected with Agent Orange. These numbers make us both mourn and be proud of, as Mr. Le Quoc Phong said. Besides, he said: In order to continue spreading the spirit of youth volunteers to the nation's youths, over the past years, HCYU has implemented many revolutionary movements , especially the youth volunteer movement. Through the movements, millions of youths have set out to travel to all areas to support community and participate in socio-economic development and national defense. However, according to the Prime Minister, there are still former pioneering individuals who are yet to receive the care they deserve as some are still living with hardships. Also, the people of the pioneering force in the new era lack proper policies of rights in order to work more effectively. In order to take care of former youth volunteers, the Prime Minister asked HCYU CC, the Association and branches to take care of former youth volunteers’ lives, urgently review and definitively solve the policy so that former volunteers can have the same living standards as people in their neighborhood, especially ones who are old, sick or lonely.
