Hanoi youth to focus on activities with imprint and impact

Web.HCYU.15.01.2019. Hanoi - The Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held a working session with the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Youth Union over the City's youth programs and movements for 2019.

Attending the conference including Mrs. Ngo Thi Thanh Hang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hanoi City; Mr. Le Quoc Phong, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Federation; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Permanent Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Mr. Bui Quang Huy, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, President of the Vietnam National Union of Students; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization; along with representatives of the departments of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Hanoi City Youth Union Committee.

At the meeting, the Hanoi City Youth Union reported the results of youth work and movement of the Capital Youth in 2018. On the youth work and movement, the City has achieved many positive results. Specifically, voluntary activities to build new rural areas and urban civilization, were widely organized. The City has built 145 mural roads with a budget of more than 1.350 million VND, mobilized 5,000 turns of participating units; organized medical counseling and gave free medicine to 30,000 people and children in difficult circumstances; mobilized youth members to participate in voluntary blood donation collected 80,520 blood units; supported more than 1,000 students difficult to return home to celebrate New Year; supported more than 180,000 candidates and family members during the national examination period...

At the conference, the Secretariat and representatives of the Central youth union exchanged opinions with the City youth union on the focus of the youth movement in 2019, surrounding contents such as mobilising young people, educating ethical for youth union members, supporting youth to start a business...

On behalf of the city leaders, Mrs. Ngo Thi Thanh Hang acknowledged, praised and appreciated the efforts of the Youth Union over the past time. There have been many innovations in youth work, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of Hanoi Capital.

Concluding at the conference, the First Secretary Mr. Le Quoc Phong noted the results of Hanoi’s youth achieved in recent years. In 2018, the City Youth Union has made tremendous efforts, reflected on many aspects of youth work with effective solutions to affirm its position in the national youth movement.

Regarding the work program in 2019, Mr. Le Quoc Phong hoped that the City youth union will fully identify the look of Hanoi youth as this is an important foundation to establish the contents and measures to implement the youth work. It is necessary to have an overview and practical basis to establish useful solutions. In the face of the fast development of the city, the Youth Union must have a timely grasp of the youth movement to have suitable solutions.

For the theme of the "Year of Youth Volunteers", the First Secretary expected that the voluntary activities of the City youth will have new developments with large scale of impact, diversifying the activities so that more youth can participate. At the city level, the focus will be on those that leave imprint and impact to society.
