Central youth union supports Lao to recover from hydroelectricity dam collapse

Web.HCYU.27.07.2018. The HCYU Permanent Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan led a delegation to the Embassy of Lao in Hanoi, though which, offered sentiments and initial assistance of 500 million VND to overcome the hardship caused by hydroelectricity dam collapse.

At the visit, the youth union’s leader expressed his sympathy for the losses caused by the Sepien-Senamnoi hydroelectricity dam collapse on 23 July 2018 which completely isolated Sanamxay district of Attapu Province in southern Laos.

On behalf of the the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Mr Nguyen Anh Tuan offered sentiments, and through the Embassy of Lao in Hanoi to transfer to the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, his sharing the difficulties experienced by the affected Laos people. He hoped the the situation would be soon stabilized and recovered. Upon the conditions, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union will provide further support.

On behalf of the Party, the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the representative Lao Embassy expressed sincere thanks to the Central Committee the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in particular, as well as, the Party, State and people of Vietnam for sharing and helping people in Laos.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union offered 500 million VND to support the youth and Lao people to recover difficulties and losses caused by the disaster. "The support is small but expressed the affection of Vietnamese youth toward the people of Laos”, Mr Tuan said.
