Ha Tinh marks 100 years since birth of youth hero Ly Tu Trong

Web.HCYU.20/10/2014. At the center for culture and media of Ha Tinh, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union coordinating with the Ministry of Public Security and Ha Tinh Province organized a 100th Anniversary of Birth of Ly Tu Trong (20/10/1914 – 20/10/2014).

Attending the event in Ha Tinh included Mrs Ha Thi Khiet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairperson of the CPV Commission for People Mobilisation; Mr Vu Trong Kim, Member of the CPV Executive Committee, Vice President cum Secretary-General of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Mr Hoang Binh Quan, Member of the CPV Executive Committee, Chairman of the CPV External Relations  Commission; Mr Nguyen Thanh Binh, Member of the CPV Executive Committee, Secretary of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Council; Dr Nguyen Dac Vinh, Alternate Member of the CPV Executive Committee, First Secretary of the Central of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Dr. Vilayvong Bouddakham, Secretary General of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union (LPRYU); Mr Vu Mao, Mr Ha Quang Du, former First Secretaries of the Central of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; the Secretariat of the Central of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; representatives of ministries and government agencies, Ha Tinh along with representatives of Thanh Ha District Youth Union; Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and The People's Armed Force heroes and particularly relatives of young hero Ly Tu Trong and youth of Ha Tinh Province.

Before the event commences, the delegation offered incense and laid flower at the Memorial of Heroic Ly Tu Trong at Viet Xuyen Commune, Thach Ha District, Ha Tinh Province.

The the event, Dr Nguyen Dac Vinh recalled Ly Tu Trong’s background and revolutionary work, in his speech was “Cde Ly Tu Trong, real name is Le Huu Trong or Le Van Trong, was born in a family with a rich tradition of patriotism in Thach Ha, Ha Tinh. He was directly guided by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc since young age, he was soon grown alive to the ideals of revolution and actively involved in patriotic movements.

Ly Tu Trong was sent back home to participate in revolutionary movements under direction of the party organisation. He was tasked to carry out internally and internationally commounication for Southern Party and Central Party Committees; at the same time he gather and mobilize patriotic youth in factories and schools to establish the Communist Youth Union.  

On the 21 Novermber 1931, Ly Tu Trong was heroically fallen on the land of Sai Gon before the panics of the French colonists when the strunglleing movements to release his comrades raising with the colonists.
