Two youth representatives gain audience with ASEAN senior leaders

Web.HCYU.24/6/2020. Two excellent young citizens of Viet Nam in 2018 and 2019, Nguyen Phuong Thao and Le Anh Tien, became representatives of Viet Nam to participate in the 36th ASEAN Leadership Meeting.

Nguyen Phuong Thao (2000) is a youth representative of 2018 in the field of study, having won the Gold medal at the International Biological Olympiad 2018 with the highest score in the world (98.13 / 100 points). Before that, Thao won the Silver Medal in the International Biological Olympiad 2017.

With these outstanding achievements, Thao was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal and the State President's Merit. Thao is currently a gifted Bachelor of Science student, Department of Biology, University of Science, VNU Hanoi.

Le Anh Tien (1990) is a youth representative of 2019 in the field of Business - Entrepreneurship. Tien founded many valuable community projects such as smart glasses to assist people with disabilities to communicate with computers. Tien owns a lot of software and won a number of domestic and international awards such as Golden Globe 2015; Vietnamese  talents 2011, 2015, 2016; VIFOTEC awards  from 2007 to 2012,...

Tien is currently the CEO of Chatbot Vietnam Joint Stock Company, a technology company established at the end of 2018 with a Sales Bot product. The Sales Bot currently attracts more than 10 million users from many countries, including the United States, South Korea and Japan.

The reception of ASEAN senior leaders and side activities on the occasion of the 36th ASEAN Summit held by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) and the National Committee on Youth of Viet Nam will take place from 25th to 26th June 2020.

The objective of the program is to demonstrate Viet Nam's commitment to the implementation of the ASEAN Youth Action Plan for the period 2016-2020; to create opportunities for young leaders of ASEAN countries to meet with senior leaders of ASEAN countries; exchange experience on the areas that young people are interested in as well as affirm the active participation of Viet Nam in ASEAN cooperation, and introduce the image of Vietnam to international friends.

There will be 20 youth representatives attending the program, representing nearly 220 million young people of ASEAN. During the 2 days, participants will discuss issues of that ASEAN youth are interested in, including volunteering, entrepreneurship and skills needed for young people during the Industry Revolution 4.0.
