More meaningful activities in Vietnam-Laos youth cooperation

Web.HCYU.15/05/2018. Hanoi – The HCYU First Secretary Le Quoc Phong held talks with Secretary of Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union (LPRYU) Alounxai Sounnalath at the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Uniuon headquarters in Hanoi.

During the talks, first Secretary Le Quoc Phong congratulated Mr Alounxai Sounnalath on taking his new post as top leader on youth of Laos – Secretary of Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union; at the same time, Mr Le Quoc Phong appreciated the special bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Laos on youth affairs and expressed his delight that Mr Alounxai Sounnalath had chosen Vietnam as his very fist official visit since taking the new post. The Vietnamese top leader on youth reiterate the inherit the special tradition, loyal between the Vietnamese and Lao Parties and States as well as of the people and youths.

The LPRYU Secretary Alounxai Sounnalath expressed his gratitude to the warm, sincere and affectionate reception of the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and trusted that this official trip will further strengthen the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and the two countries' youth unions.

Mr Alounxai proposed to renovate some current programs and activities of youth cooperation between the two countries; in particular, youth exchanges and meetings would be focused on the local areas having the historical imprint of the two countries’ great leaders.   

The Laos Secretary also expressed his intention that the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union would continue to support, share information and nuture cadres on youth affairs; at the same time, sharing experiences in establishing the Lao Youth Federation, setting up a center for start-ups; further deepening exchanges and learning activities between young entrepreneurs of the two countries.

At the talks, the two countries’ unions agreed on the suggestions, proposals of both sides to strengthen mutual support in international forums; exchanging, cooperating and sharing experiences between the two countries' press units in propaganda work; improving the quality of training programs for young cadres; strengthening the traditional friendship activities between the border provinces and cities that have a long lasting relationship.
