Vietnamese youth delegation attends ASEAN- INDIA Student Exchange Program

Web.HCYU. Hyderabad, India, 20/12/2012: 250 delegates from all countries in ASEAN region have been participating in ASEAN- INDIA Student Exchange Programme from December 11th to 21st, 2012. (Minh Ngoc contributed reporting from New Delhi, India).

They have opportunities to learn about Indian society, people, culture and economy. Many activities will take place in cities: Hyderabad, Kolkata, New Delhi and Delhi.  Delegates will visit the Indian School of Business, GVK Biosciences, ITC Khidderpore factory, Tata Consultancy Services, CH Green Business Centre, Brila Planetorium, and many Indian cultural heritages such as: Golkonda Fort, Victoria Memorial Hall, Dakshinneswar Temple, Sikandra Temple, Agra fort ...Especially, they  have had an unique opportunity to meet the India Prime Minister and India President.

All members in Vietnam’s delegation were very eager and ready for the trip. Bui Ha Tra My, student of University of Science and Technology, said: "This is the first time I have participated in an youth exchange program between ASEAN countries and India. I feel so proud". Prior to the trip, every delegate not only enthusiastically prepared some products in order to showcase the beauty of Vietnamese culture but also was eager to present themselves as an educated, creative and modern young generation of Vietnam.

Tran Nguyen Vu, student of Ho Chi Minh City Bank University volunteered to create a video clip introducing Vietnam. "I hope the clip about Vietnam will give a picture of the development of economy, society, and people of Vietnam. And it could make an impression at the program”- he said. Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh- one member of the group, choreographed a flashmob dance based on the folk song Trong Com which will be performed by the delegates themselves. “I want to introduce the creativity of Vietnamese youth as well as showing that we still well preserve Vietnam’s tradition”, she said.

Nguyen Thuy Vy, Marketing Director of Quynh Vy Painting Company also brought seven rice paintings made by Vietnamese artisans as special souvenirs. "I chose pictures of lotus and Ao Dai. I  hope and believe that these iconic images of Vietnamese culture will make a big impression for our international friends”, she remarked.

So far, the Vietnamese delegation has successfully completed the program in Hyderabad, Kolkata and now in New Delhi. This is the second time Vietnam participated in ASEAN- INDIA Student Exchange Programme, which aims to strengthen multilateral relations between ASEAN and INDIA.
