Vietnamese - Canadian Youth Volunteers help local people in Hoabinh province

During 3 months of local operations, the Vietnamese – Canadian volunteers group have deployed volunteer activities towards communities such as teaching English and French for pupils, raising awareness of social heath care, new rural construction, etc.

Vietnamese - Canadian Youth Exchange program was established under the cooperation between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Canadian World Youth Organization (CWY).

The 2012 Vietnamese - Canadian Youth Exchange is the 3rd program to be implemented, in which all volunteers will participate in volunteer activities for three months in Vietnam, from 07/09/2012 to 05/12/2012 and then continue to operate in Canada, from 06/12/2012 to 06/03/2013. In Vietnam, the youth volunteers consists of 20 people, including 10 Vietnamese and 10 Canadians, are divided into 10 couple of counterparts,  each couple living together in a host family in Dong Chua village, Thong Nhat Ward, Hoa Binh City, Hoa Binh province.

During 3 months of local operations, with support of local leaders and relevant departments, the group have deployed volunteer activities towards communities such as teaching English and French for pupils of grade I, II, III, raising awareness of social heath care, new rural construction, teaching village’s children dancing, singing.

After the first time getting used to with the lives and activities in the commune, youth volunteers participated in numbers of local activities such as helping the villagers to build a public toilets located in the culture house.




Cooperate with local youth union to plant, take care of trees and clean the Dong Ngoc route managed by local youth union.




Help the Dong Gao villagers to dig drainage ditches around the stadium at the local culture house




Teach the children dancing, singing and prepare for the Mid-Autumn program for the children of Dong Chua village




Cooperate with the Hoa Binh provinces, Thong Nhat commune Youth Union to successfully organize Mid-Autumn associated with Presentation program with the theme "Prevention of School Violence".




Organize the Presentation program at the Hoa Binh Youth Culture Center with the theme "culture shock".




Teaching English to students of grade I and grade II of the Thong Nhat commune.




Volunteers and pupils of primary school are cutting grass and cleaning in the Hero Statue.



Organizing film show for the children in Dong Chua village.


Volunteers are recording for the radio show at 6am on Saturday morning


Education Activity Days.


The goup will finish the program in Hoabinh and go to Canada to do the volunteer work for 3 months.
